We're gearing up for the Olympics and reviewing the best looks from Wimbledon.

š The Superlatives š
The New Olympic Brand āShip: Fenty
Rihanna wasted no time making her new āship IG official. Our girl Riri announced that Fenty Beauty is locked in as an official partner of the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics. Reportedly, hundreds of volunteers will receive kits filled with Fenty Beauty products and tutorials on how to do their makeup. Ummmā¦. Where do we sign up to volunteer? Congrats Riri! Maybe after this massive milestone, we will finally get that album. Probably not.
The Olympic Brand Partnership Break-Up: Toyota
Toyota, on the other hand, has told the International Olympic Committee (IOC) that itās not us; itās you. The carmaker decided to end the record-breaking partnership as a sponsor of the Olympics worth over $800M. Itās speculated that Toyota was unhappy with how the IOC was spending the sponsorship money. Toyota has sponsored the Olympics since the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea. We donāt like to take sides in a break-up, so we will keep our opinions to ourselves on this one. But somebody should probably check on the IOC and send them a tub of ice cream.
š¾Court is Out of Session: Wimbledon is over, and itās time to congratulate those who didnāt take an L. On the Womenās side, Barbora KrejÄĆkovĆ” defeated Jasmine Paolini in 3 sets to take home her 2nd career Grand Slam title. While thatās great for her, that makes 3 Lās in back-to-back-to-back Grand Slam finals for Paolini. It sucks, but even making it to all those finals is quite an accomplishment.
Meanwhile, American Taylor Townsend and partner KateÅina SiniakovĆ” took home the title in women's doubles, making it Townsendās first Grand Slam win. Siniakova is true to this, but she is not new to this, as this makes eight major doubles wins for her. Weāre glad that Townsend could overcome all the negativity she has faced and sprinkle a bit of Black girl magic over that all-white dress code.
On the Menās side, Carlos Alcaraz ran it back for another win. He won Wimbledon last yearā¦and back to back because he just won Roland Garros last month. The boy is on a roll!
He took out the GOAT, Novak Djokovic, at the French Open in three sets. And it was relatively quick and painlessā¦for Carlos. The Wimbledon win makes four major titles at the tender age of 21 for Carlitos. This is, indeed, a new era in tennisā¦and weāre here for it.
And if you wanna watch some more tennis, tune into the Olympics. All these pros will return to the dusty clay courts in Paris in honor of their countries.
ā¾ An All-Star Studded Affair: The MLB All-Star Game has come and gone, and if you didnāt watch it, weāre not shocked. While the viewership numbers were up from last year, it will still go down in the annals of history as the second lowest-watched All-Star Game everā¦for now (who knows, next year could be worse). But, just in case you were wondering, the American League won the game 5-3.
The Homerun Derby, a favorite event of All-Star Week, was won by LA Dodgersā Teoscar Hernandez, which makes him the first Dodgers player to win the event. At least somebody made some positive history to balance the fact that viewership recorded the lowest numbers since 2014.
We shouldnāt forget to mention that the Derby aired at the same time as the Republican National Convention, which we werenāt interested in watching over here, but apparently, many baseball fans were. We could see how they might share a common audience.
ā½ ā¦ But Did You Win? On Sunday, July 14th, Argentina defeated Colombia 1-0 in the Copa America championship match. The teams faced off in the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Floridaā¦ and we donāt think they will be invited back to play anytime soon.
We love to see a passionate crowd but things got a bit out of hand. The lack of crowd control led to a delay of more than one hour before the game started. Then, it took another hour for Argentinaās star, Lionel Messi, to injure his right ankle, sidelining the star for the remainder of the game. His team still secured the win, giving Argentina their second Copa America win. Here is a recap of the match.
šWhen I Was Young; Iām Not a Kid Any More: So while NBA Champ Jayson Tatum and his Highness LeBron James are on the US Olympic Menās Basketball team together, the media thought itād be nice to rehash old childhood stories. During an interview, Tatum told the tale of his 11-year-old self being brought to tears because LeBron refused him an autograph.
He later was asked to relive the trauma by telling the story in front of LeBron, who was completely unaware that a miniature Tatum ever dared to touch the hem of his garments. The two laughed it off, and Tatum declared they were cool nowā¦but only after dunking on LeBron in the Eastern Conference Finals during his first year in the league. I mean, I guess he got his lick backā¦.but Lebron [and minions] still went on to win that seriesā¦soā¦thereās that.
š« And The Rocketās Red Glaaarrreee: Now, because none of y'all watched the Homerun Derby (the numbers donāt lie), you missed a bit of tea. After singing a rendition of The Star-Spangled Banner that had many (of the few who watched) talking, country singer Ingrid Andress has declared that she was drunk and will be checking into rehab.
Now, our level of country starts and stops at Dolly Parton, but Ingress is apparently Grammy nominated, so weāre sure the performance was a bit of a shock for all involved. While the performance was not as bad as Rosanne Barr's, it definitely had Fergie beat. But donāt take our word for itā¦have a look for yourself. We do hope that she gets better, and appreciate someone who can recognize when they have a problem.
Your sports term of the week is: heptathlon
A track and field event that is comprised of seven events: 100-meter hurdles, shot put, high jump, 200-meter dash, long jump, javelin, and 800-meter run.
Think of it like this: Itās like an event within an event, and you should look out for it in the upcoming Olympicsā¦ Honestly, itās giving Trunchbull vibes. Matilda, anyone?
On the 14 days of Wimbledon, my true love gave to meeeee, three fantastic summer looks!
Julia Roberts popped out and attended the final days of Wimbledon and gave us a true American sweetheart look in this Gucci polo dress.
Anthropologie has one thatās both cute and a bit easier on the pockets:
For a more edgy twist to this look, you may want to try Charli XCXās take on the polo dress.
And check it out -the Loft has a similar look on sale!
Mama Margot (Robbie) has the last word as she served us perfection in polka dots with a side of pregnancy glow.
We were glowing when we saw that Top Shop has a cute polka dot dress, too:
